Coffee Filters To The Rescue
I used up the last of a jar of pickles and once again I had the dilemma of how to drain the juice without getting the seasoning in the kitchen sink drain. I'm aware that a fine screened strainer would work, but I don't seem to have one. I've used paper towels before but today I had a light bulb moment to experiment with more coffee filters uses.
I removed the sink plug and put a good coffee filter in its place and poured the last of the pickle juice and its seasoning into the coffee filter. I rinsed the jar a bit with a little water and poured that through the strainer.
Then, all I had to do was wait a minute or two for the liquid to drain and toss out the filter and its contents.
Turns out that light was bright and I'll remembering this little repurpose coffee filter trick. We do not need to use the best coffee filters for this brew.
